Well well well,

Sounds like everyday something new is going on for you guys and especially this week. Sounds like a lot went down and I guess you could say the same for me. Lots of great things happened this week and for about 40 seconds all things went black.

So I don’t even know where to start but let’s go from Monday. Anyway it ended up being an amazing day with tons of success, like I said I was with Elder H and man we tore up the streets well really just a couple houses. We only work 3 hours on pday but we knocked 1 door and we were able to find 4 new people and they all have fechas for the 7th of julio. So that was a huge miracle that we saw to start off the week. The rest of the week was bangarang!!! we have 2 baptisms coming up this Saturday and so we had to prepare them for that and get them their entrevistas so that they could be baptized.  We’ve been working super hard and just trying to juggle around all the people we need to visit. It’s been a week of miracles and hard work. We also had lots of intercambios this week and so I was working with lots of different Elders from our district and also the zone leaders. It was way fun though and I enjoyed almost every part of it.

Yesterday we had zone conference and at it was good old Elder H!!!!! It was super cool cause we got to spend the majority of the day together and the conference was also really awesome. We heard some great talks from President and learnt some really effective things from the assistants. We also had a huge cane drop from the hermana but in the end it was a super good day and we were all able to learn a lot!!! It was super great cause it always seems like a recharge of the batteries. It was a super spiritual week and overall I just loved it. The work continues to sprint forward here in lamadrid.

Just to let you know I did get the birthday package and the banner really caught me by surprise!!! It is way cool and I’m super pumped to see all those friendly faces!!!! We hung it up in our pension and so I’ll get to see it every day even though it’s not my bday yet!!! I love it. I still haven’t opened everything and so we’ll see if I can hold on until the day. But it’s been super great.

Well before I forget cause I forgot to put it in Erin and Dad’s emails HAPPY BIRTHDAY AND HAPPY FATHERS DAY!!!!! I hope they were spectacular and that all went well.

It sounds like Sam is doing well. I hope he is adjusting well and I guess I should be expecting his wedding invitation any day now cause that’s what the trend looks like. hahaha no I hope he stays single at least until I get home. But ya it’s been a good week and I guess I should share something more with you.

Well I said the world went black for about 40 seconds and well I meant that literally.

So it was a drizzly Tuesday and we got the invitation to go to the hospital to donate blood. and so we decided as a companionship to go and do some good.  Pretty much we went and donated blood, as you know it was my first time and I felt really good afterwards. I got up after giving blood and went out to wait with the other missionaries, so we were talking for a bit and all of a sudden I got super light headed, so I asked to sit down. Then the last thing I remember is that I sat down and then I was driving a car and I was super hot and sweaty. Then I opened my eyes and I just hear this Elder A who’s a good friend of mine say I thought he was joking and so I slapped him on the head with my passport. bahahaha but the doctors came and put my feet above my head and put me in a wheelchair and put me in a room to recover while the blood recirculated and I got some stuff to eat and so everything turned out good. The rest of the day was kinda loopy but I’m fine now so don’t worry. The doctor told me ¨la agua no llego al tanque¨ aka I’m super tall and so the blood wasn’t reaching my head enough so I passed out on the missionary next to me. Anyway it all was well and we kept working hard.

It was an interesting week and I think that’s all I have to share for now. But hey I love you all. I hope you have a great week and that you know the Lord loves you all.

I loved seeing all my friends and family in that banner and I say thank you and love you all.

Love

The Lord is watching over us...

Monday June 11, 2012

Dear Family,

Well I know that the last few months have been hard, it has been a really fight for me lately but through all this time I really would like to thank you for all the help and support you’ve given me, that you are praying for me because I really can feel your love and your prayers. It gives me more energy and more power every day to keep working and doing what I’m here to do. Doing what the Lord has sent me here to do.

This week has been one filled with blessings and things are starting to look up. We really have been blessed. One for me is having Elder H here with me. He’s great and a really hard worker. We are always joking around but we get lots of work done and have super spiritual lessons at the same time. We now like to talk in British, Scottish and Australian accents all the time so we have fun being from the homeland. I have had a smile on my face every day this week and we are tearing up this area like no other!!  This week we found tons of new people and have been teaching lots of people that are preparing to get baptized the 23rd and the 3 weeks following. It has really exploded here and it’s only been a week!!! The members seem super pumped to be working with us and us with them. We are getting a couple married this week or the next so that they can be baptized this month!!! It’s been a week of miracles and every little one that the Lord has given us we have been noticing. Whenever we get a little bummed the Lord is there at our side ready to give us another miracle family!! It has sure been a testimony builder this week that the Lord is always with us.

Man I just feel so ready to get back to work and I know that just like this last week I have to work as hard or even harder if these people and going to progress!! It’s a tough job and my mind has not been this tired of thinking about what we need to do with the people in a while so I’m going to bed and waking up tired every day but you know we just keep going. I’m really excited to see how this next week goes because I know there’s gunna be a few diverts in the road but its gunna be a great week!! I continue to learn a lot every day from myself but especially from my companion!!

So things here are great and it sounds like things back home are just splendid too!! Everything is moving forward and the things that happen happen. I know that there are always things we need to be working at but it sounds like you are all taking some good steps towards what the ward wants. I know it’s not always the easiest to accept the council we get from the ones the Lord is directing because maybe we think we are right, but really it’s not that way. I know as we listen to our leaders we will receive all the blessings that the Lord has in store for us and even more. I’m grateful for the relationship that I have with him and that I have the privilege to talk with him at any point in the day and he will listen to me. His ears are always open and he wants to hear from us and all we need to do is talk and express what’s in our hearts.

Well of other news it was a fun night last night for me!! Me and Elder H had a nice visit form Elder S (my bud from the MTC) and Elder H another Elder that’s become a close friend in the mission. They are comps right now and Harris and Shumway both had a meeting with President today and so they came over to sleep at our pension last night. It was super fun and we have quite the splendid night with them. Man I love the mission soo much!!! But yeah I did see Elder H the other week. He looks like he’s doing good and loving the mission. I’ve been able to talk to him every once and a while and now I’m gunna see him on Thursday cause we have a zone conference together. Its gunna be tight!!!

The weather is getting pretty cold. I don’t like taking showers anymore cause it’s soo cold. The water is only like luke warm because the walls are soo cold and then its freezing once you leave the bathroom so the mornings aren’t so pleasant. It’s getting colder but I’ve  got all the stuff I need for the cold I think and if not I’ll just have to be a man and tough it out. So we’ll see how that goes.

Well that’s about all for now. I hope you know that God lives and loves everyone of us. I know that and it’s what I share with the world. I love you all so very much and I guess for now I’ll talk to you all next week

LOOOOOOOOVE

Elder Harker

a few tough weeks....

Monday June 4th, 2012

Hey Fam,

I’m ok.

It’s been a harder week and I’ve tried to be as strong as I can and still enjoy myself.

Well to let you know that it was transfers today and Elder R has left. I think it was time for a change and my new comp is Elder H from Lindon, Utah. He seems pretty cool and looks like we’re going to have a pretty good transfer. I’m excited to get to work with him and see what we can do together with the help of the Lord. But really I’m just excited to learn from him. He seems like a way good elder and so we`ll have lots to share with each other.

Anyway so we went around saying our goodbyes yesterday and they went pretty well, we got to see lots of the members and it was nice to have lots of good food!!! haha but nothing too too exciting there.

I don’t know it’s just been a weird week but nothing really new. I hope there is more to tell you next week and so I guess it’s ciao for now. I hope you are all doing ok and that you all know that I love you all soo much!!! All of you are soo special to me and I want you to know that.

Well I guess it’s all for this week and I hope you`re all good

lots of love

Elder Harker

Monday May 28, 2012

Well I hate to say that it’s been another hard week for me. I don’t really know what to think right now, but just to let you know that I am very grateful for all your letters and they do help every week. I try to take all the things you say into account and improve in what I can.

It just seems as each day goes on it just gets harder and harder, we keep trying to find new people to teach and some people we meet on the first go around seem way cool and want to learn but then when we go by again it’s not what we expected at all. Others we just work with and then after a while they just crash and burn, and then all the people that can so easily get baptized just don’t want to and they are sooo ready!!!!!! We tried everything to help them but it just doesn’t come out the way we want it. I guess I need to realize it’s all in the Lord’s time and I guess I haven’t learned it yet. It’s a little disanimating but we keep going forward and try to work. I’m just stuck and don’t know what the next step is. Maybe I need to take one step in the complete other direction. So we’ll see what happens but I keep praying and looking for comfort and the guidance of the spirit. I hope next week I can have something better to say.

Today we had a really fun activity with another zone and Pres. We painted a futbol stadium and then played some futbol which ended up being so tight I loved it!!! It helped me get a little bit of my energy back and I’m pumped to keep going. So it’s been a pretty good week because we also had a capacitacion with President and I enjoyed it. I guess what I got out of it was a lot on faith and that I really need to make sure that my vision need to be the same as the Lord’s vision. I don’t know if that makes sense but it helped me know how to improve.

I would also like to give a thank you to the Maller’s for their letter I got the other day that was very thoughtful, and besides that I don’t really have much else to say I hope you are all well and we’ll talk again next week.
